Deportivo La Coruna is starting a binding consultation this Wednesday among its members to decide whether to change the club's name. Voting will take place from 09:00 today until Sunday, June 21, at 18:00. Club members will decide whether to maintain the current name 'Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña' or adapt it to the official form 'Real Club Deportivo de A Coruña'. This consultation is part of the celebrations for the club's 120th anniversary. Voting will be conducted online, and there will be a phone line for those over 65 and other groups needing assistance. Members and friend members aged 12 and older can participate. The decision to put this change to a vote was agreed upon at the I Social Forum between the club and its fans in May. The result will be binding and will be ratified at a shareholders' meeting on June 23. Deportivo La Coruna has indicated that this initiative responds to administrative and legal criteria related to official toponymy. If the change is approved, the new name will be implemented for the 2026/2027 season, when the club hopes to return to La Liga.
