Deportivo La Coruna has announced its departures and several renewals, but still no signings ahead of its return to Primera. The name that could become the first reinforcement for the 2026-2027 season is that of Dutch midfielder Teun Gijselhart, as confirmed by AS on May 12. The 21-year-old midfielder spoke in the podcast of journalist De Stem van de Vijverberg and made it clear that his next destination is A Coruña: “Many people find it a bit intimidating to go from the Eerste Divisie to LaLiga, but I would have done it even if Deportivo had stayed in Segunda División”. The Dutch midfielder explains the reasons for his decision and how the process was: “At first, I thought, ‘I want to keep playing in De Graafschap for now’. At some point, things started to change. Then my agent and I said, ‘If we're going to take the next step, we prefer it to be in the Netherlands; Twente would have been fine too. So, in the end, I decided to go to Spain to hear what they had to say. They received me wonderfully. There was a sense of football and I fell in love with the project immediately”.
